Cagliari-Sampdoria 4-3: comeback from the Sardinians, Cerri signs the overtaking at 96 '

CAGLIARI – The fable of Cagliari continues. With a resounding comeback the Sardinians beat Sampdoria 4-3, they extend the strip of consecutive useful results to twelve and keep the pace of Roma, hooked in fourth place. Sampdoria bitter chews: twice in double advantage, Ranieri's men collapse in the final and return home empty-handed. Blown away by Joao Pedro's deadly one-two, worth 3-3 in the space of less than three minutes, the blucerchiati receive the coup de grace from the newly entered Cerri in the 96th minute.

Vieira preferred to Linetty

Maran deploys Rafael in goal and Faragò right back in place of the suspended Olsen and Cacciatore. On the left Pellegrini wins the run-off with Lykogiannis, while in the median Castro and Cigarini win over Nandez and Oliva. In Sampdoria the only real doubt was in midfield and was dissolved in favor of Vieira, preferred to Linetty.

Cagliari presses but does not sting

In the first half hour the challenge does not give too many emotions. To make the race are definitely the hosts who, despite the intensity poured on the pitch, fail to scratch the defensive compact Sampdoria. The most dangerous among the Sardinians is Joao Pedro: on the 23rd minute the Brazilian kicks weakly after a good exchange at speed with Simeone, while on the 26th he misses the goal on Pellegrini's perfect cross.

Quagliarella hits from the spot

The Dorians, waiting for most of the first time, suddenly light up with a textbook reversal by Quagliarella to which Rafael responds with a feat not less than less. After an oversized diagonal of Ramirez, here is the episode that breaks the balance. At 37 'Pellegrini slips into the area going to overwhelm Gabbiadini: the penalty is sunny and Quagliarella leaves no way out for Rafael with a bolide that slots under the crossbar.

Ramirez doubles at the start of recovery

Before the break there is room for the rossoblu reaction, but Castro's header on the second post lacks precision. At the start of the second half the game seems to go downhill for Sampdoria, when Ramirez downloads a powerful diagonal on Quagliarella's assist after just seven minutes. The Cagliari, however, does not fit and the shock comes thanks to the nth ballistic feat of Nainggolan. The Belgian confirmed himself as the undisputed driver and reopened the games at 69 'with a shot from outside that went into the far corner.

Joao Pedro is unleashed

To quench the enthusiasm of the owners of the house is the immediate replica of Quagliarella, skilled in striking Rafael on the hawking flight of Gabbiadini. Within a minute the islanders returned below two goals, without losing the desire to fight. To get into the chair, so, is another man symbol of this Cagliari. Joao Pedro, between 74 'and 76', re-establishes parity with a touch of external steering wheel and with a perfect entry into the area. The Brazilian climbs to nine goals in the league, his personal best in the top division.

Cerri enters and signs the victory

On the wings of enthusiasm and dragged by the home crowd, in the end, Cagliari doesn't stop believing. Maran relies on Cerri's air qualities that punctually repays him with the winning shot in full recovery, on the umpteenth cross to the kiss of a tireless Pellegrini. The 4-3 comeback fed the Rossoblu dream, while Sampdoria saw a series interrupted that had yielded 8 points in the previous four league outings.
