covid-19 vaccination: help in the residential care centers
Since the beginning of January, our teams have been assisting residential care centers during the first phase of COVID-19 vaccination. We do this through health promotion, awareness raising and verified information about the vaccines, for both staff and residents.

In the Brussels Hotel Galia, we offered isolation and medical follow-up to suspected or confirmed corona patients among the homeless, from November 2020 to mid-February 2021. Currently, the center has transformed into a medical shelter and we moved to the Meiniger Hotel, a little further in the center of Brussels . The project will run until the end of March and now also takes care of families.
medical assistance in squats
In collaboration with SamuSocial and Dokters van de Wereld, a special outreach team also medically monitors suspected or confirmed patients among people in squats. They can be referred to our medical shelter if necessary.
voluntary shifts in residential care centers
In December, a number of permanent MSF employees helped out in a few hard-hit residential care centers. They did this on a voluntary basis, in order to relieve the tired or absent staff as much as possible.
