One of the “flaws” of Pixel 4 is to be able to record videos in 4K “only” at 30 fps (as also indicated in the our review). Google has never officially fixed this shortcoming, but thanks to a third-party app it is possible to circumvent the limitation.

The app in question is FiLMiC Pro, which, with yesterday’s update, brought the 4K 60 fps recording support for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. The developers didn’t even advertise the news: they just added it to the changelog.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Support for FiLMiC Remote for Android (Beta).
  • Support for Anamorphic 1.55X lenses.
  • Pixel 4: Support for 4K / 60fps.
  • Histogram performance optimizations.
  • Stability improvements.

Are you looking forward to recording videos in 4K fluid with your Pixel 4? Know that this privilege has a cost: FiLMiC Pro costs € 12.99, a relatively high price for an application, but that is certainly negligible for those who could really benefit from these types of registrations. We leave you the badge for the purchase below: let us know how the final results are.
