An intruder entered theAustralian Museum of Sydney in the night between Saturday and Sunday, when the rooms were deserted and closed to the public. The man – according to reports from the museum, which filmed the intrusion with his surveillance cameras – would not have done damage, but he would have enjoyed the visit (staying in the museum for forty minutes), also clicking a selfie with a dinosaur skull.
He certainly enjoyed his night at the museum, police said, stating that the intruder managed to enter the Australian Museum through a scaffolding around one in the morning. The museum closed since last year due to renovations.
The police are chasing the intruder, and he considers the episode very serious (certainly from the point of view of the museum’s security measures, which have proved absolutely lacking): We are fortunate that it has not damaged historical works or anything else that is valuable inside.
