Hospitalized in France for Covid-19, 86-year-old Cameroonian jazz musician Manu Dibango did not make it, yet another victim of this virus that put us in quarantine. Composer, saxophonist, vibraphonist and singer, Emmanuel N’Djok Dibango known as Manu Dibango was born in Douala (a city in southwestern Cameroon) on December 12, 1933. Famous for his fusion style that blended jazz, soul and funk with music traditional Cameroonian, Manu Dibango had collaborated with many artists from the world music, pop and afrobeat scene including Fela Kuti, Herbie Hancock, Bill Laswell, Bernie Worrell, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Sly and Robbie, Eliades Ochoa and Jovanotti (in featuring by Music, a song that was among the tracks on the album Lorenzo 2015 CC).
