Red flag? The Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs are trying to sell the soul machines purchased in the first wave and left unused.

According to a report in Israel Today, these are soul machines for which a cash advance has been paid, but they are still in China and have not yet arrived in Israel.

Officials conclude that according to the condition of the respirators today, we will not reach an astronomical number of 5,000 respirators, and therefore the state seeks to sell the machines to other countries and thus prevent economic harm.

Also, the medical staffs in hospitals are already suffering from severe overcrowding and shortage of manpower, while the number of respirators stands at about 140.

This begs the question: is there anyone who will operate all the purchased respirators?

The sale attempt was made by the Ministry of Health and mediated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Health approved the publication in “Israel Today” and said: “The State of Israel is improving its inventories, we are meeting the goals set by the government and are examining the possibility of selling and assisting member states due to purchasing surpluses.”

The Foreign Ministry stated: “The State of Israel prepared in the first phase of the corona crisis for extreme scenarios and purchased medical equipment so that there would be no situation of shortage of medical equipment for the benefit of the citizens of the State of Israel. Now the Ministry of Health is optimizing and equipping the health system with the best respirators. There is still a shortage in the world, so we offer the surplus equipment for sale for the benefit of other countries, so that they can be equipped for the benefit of the citizens of their own countries. ”

In March of this year, as part of the first wave, the state prepared for the resuscitation of 5,000 corona patients in case of need.

The then director general of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Bar-Siman Tov, reported to the Knesset committees that the hospitals had an inventory of 1,500 machines available and usable, and that there were another 800 to 900 machines in the military authority, and another 70 in the private sector.

The head of the Mossad, Yossi Cohen, was entrusted with bringing in additional medical equipment, and according to various publications, he managed to purchase another 3,500 soul machines for Israel.
