As you may recall, the Dutch submitted an official offer to Zahavi for a salary of 1.5 million euros per season – very far from what he earned in China – a fact that was also addressed this morning (Wednesday) in the Dutch media. “There is a realistic possibility of joining Zehavi, but in order for that to happen, the Israeli striker will have to cut his salary,” it was reported in one of the media outlets covering Eindhoven.
It was also noted that the deal has not yet been paid also because the Dutch club are interested in completing the deal to sell Sam Lamers to the Italian Atlanta earlier. “Although Zahavi is already over the age of 30, the Israeli striker is showing sharpness in his game, PSV has very high expectations of him.”
PSV is coached by German Roger Schmidt, who has known Zahavi since the time he coached in the Chinese league. Fitness coach Benjamin Kugel also knows the Israeli star from the short period who worked as the fitness manager of the Israeli team. “Eindhoven has been following players for a long time and only then does it add them to its ranks,” Dutch media reported.
