Shahar Tzobari returns forever. Today (Saturday) ended a qualifying test competition in the RSX Olympic windsurfing model, in which Zubari, a bronze medalist from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, won after a close competition in which he overtook Yoav Cohen on the last cruise. Cohen finished in second place, and Yoav Omar finished third.

The competition, held in Haifa from Thursday to Saturday, also served as preparation for the conditions that are supposed to be at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. An extensive professional team conducted tests and a model in terms of dealing with heat. In the coming week, the team will move to training on the iqfoil surfboard, when the team will travel to Switzerland to participate in the first European Championship in the model. The championship will end in late August.

Gore Steinberg, coach of the men’s team, noted: “The team maintains a high level of fitness ahead of Tokyo by internal competition in the current Olympic model RSX. This way we enable progress and investment towards the move to iqfoil, which will serve as the Olympic surfboard in Paris 2024.”
