The writer of the Twilight series plans to publish two more books around that supernatural world. Stephenie Meyer has announced this now that her new spin-off Midnight Sun is a big hit.

Midnight Sun tells the story of the wildly popular series from a different perspective. In Meyer’s original four books, Twilight (2005), New Moon (2006), Eclipse (2007) and Breaking Dawn (2008), teen Bella is the narrator, in the new book, vampire Edward.

The book series was filmed in four parts between 2008 and 2012. The films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in the lead roles of Bella, Edward and werewolf Jacob were also a great success.

Meyer wrote much of Midnight Sun since her first books were made into films. In 2008, the first twelve chapters of the book leaked online, after which the author stopped writing. At the beginning of this month the book was released quite unexpectedly.

Although the writer has repeatedly indicated in interviews that she no longer wants to dive into the dark vampire world of Twilight, she told a lecture for a British bookstore chain on Thursday that she still has ideas for two more books in the series. She did not say exactly what they are about, but fans will still have to be patient; Meyer plans to start on a brand new story first, and only then pick up the Twilight books.
