Microsoft makes it possible to stream smartphone apps to the PC with the Your Phone app. This was announced during the presentation of the new Samsung Note 20. Windows Insiders can already try out the function today.
Microsoft makes it possible to run all apps on the smartphone on the computer with Your Phone. This casts the smartphone to the monitor, as it were.
In the phone settings, users must first link their smartphone to the computer, after which they will see all installed applications. It is even possible to pin apps to the taskbar or add them as a shortcut in the start menu. For the time being, most devices can only run one application at a time. Users of the new Samsung Note 20 can run multiple apps at the same time.
There are currently 33 supported devices, all from Samsung. Other brands will probably also be covered in the future.
The Your Phone app also has other new features, including a drag-and-drop system for moving files between the computer and smartphone effortlessly. In addition, it is also possible to copy files to the computer and paste them into the smartphone, and vice versa.
It is now also possible to record personal and business telephone calls if you work via the PC. The function then simply uses the speakers, microphone and monitor for these conversations. Users must have Windows 10 version 1903 or higher and at least Android 7.
