Westerlo responds to judge’s ruling: “Via top performances on the field to 1A” – Voetbalnieuws

Westerlo went to court in summary proceedings to still acquire a nineteenth place in 1A. A ruling was made on Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE: Westerlo has also responded to the whole case and will not appeal against the judgment of the judge hearing the injunction.

“In the interest of Belgian football, Westerlo will not appeal against the decision so that the football competition in 1A can simply start this weekend. Our club is now focusing further on preparing for the competition in 1B and will do everything in its power to claiming her place in the department where our proud club belongs: by means of top performances on the field: 1A “, says Het Nieuwsblad.

Westerlo went to the summary judge with similar demands as Waasland-Beveren and demanded a penalty of five million euros per match day if that did not happen. However, the judge had now expressed a negative opinion about De Kemphanen’s question.

So it seems that the competition can ‘just’ start in 1A on Saturday. Westerlo already stays in 1B. Is Virton still coming up with something or are all lawsuits now over?
