Virgin Atlantic Airlines filed for bankruptcy yesterday (Tuesday), following corona damage. The aviation giant closed its operations in April with the outbreak of the corona crisis and returned to flying only last month.

The company owned by billionaire Richard Branson is located in London and flies to hundreds of destinations around the world. It is estimated that thousands of company employees around the world will lose their jobs in the coming weeks.
The company also filed a request for protection against creditors in the United States to enable a rescue plan. Once 3,500 workers have been laid off, the intention is to try to avoid closure. In April, the company was also forced to close Virgin Australia.
