Karsdorp has been under contract with AS Roma since 2017 and is stuck in the Italian capital for two more years. His period with the giallorossi has not yielded many sporting successes, but the three-time Oranje-international is still well in the market. According to VI, various clubs from top European leagues have inquired about him: not only Besiktas, Schalke 04 and Southampton, but also Napoli, Atalanta Bergamo, FC Augsburg and Olympiakos Piraeus.
However, according to VI, a final decision will still be delayed. Karsdorp is considering to leave AS Roma permanently, but the club is currently facing administrative upheavals: owner James Pallotta has sold Roma for 591 million euros to two wealthy American brothers.
Feyenoord trainer Dick Advocaat would have liked to keep Karsdorp on board. However, the Stadium Club did not have the resources for that.
