Royal Antwerp FC is not yet strengthened from the transfer period. In the front there is little luxury and in the back there is still something to add. Ivan Leko still has a lot of work.
The coach has to let Antwerp play more attackingly, but the Croat was apparently not Antwerp’s first choice. Peter Vandenbempt told this to Sporza. “Offensive football, that is also what Leko stands for and why he chose it. The first choice was Hein Vanhaezebrouck, just to take that step to a different kind of football.”
Vanhaezebrouck has not had a club for almost two years. He has previously refused proposals from Charleroi and Amiens, and is hoping for a foreign club. There is a chance that Vanhaezebrouck will go back to work somewhere in 2021, but the question is whether the interest will still be high. He had a long sabbatical and his passage at Anderlecht was a flop.
