Van Leven: “I believe in this group”

Tonight, Maccabi Tel Aviv received a happy boost for the rest of the season. The champion defeated Hapoel B’Shlosha 0: 2 in the rematch and completed winning the championship for the second time in a row.

At the end of the game executive director Patrick Van Leven, who coached the team at the start of the season commented on the achievement. On maintaining a balance of 100 percent success he said: “It’s nice for books. It’s been fun the last few weeks, the guys have worked hard. We managed to get good things out of them and we showed it during the games.”

“I believe in this team and the mentality of the players, the basics are there and we need to keep working hard from there,” he added.

Commenting on his impression of the new coach Georgius Donis: “We have talked several times, I believe he has the necessary experience to lead Maccabi and get more out of this team.”
