“Unacceptable”: Trump attacked the NBA

It was, it seemed, only a matter of time. Before every game and game since the resumption of the NBA season in the “bubble” in Orlando, the vast majority of players kneel while playing the United States anthem. This is in protest of the police violence, and in support of the “Black Lives Matters” movement. Now, almost as expected, the reaction of US President Donald Trump has arrived.

“When I see people kneeling while playing the anthem and not respecting our flag and national anthem, what I do personally is turn off the TV. I think it’s shameful,” Trump said against the players and coaches, sending a strong message to the best basketball league managers in the world. Commissioner Adam Silver.

“We work with the NBA, we worked very hard with them in trying to renew the season. I pushed for them to renew the season. And suddenly I see everyone kneeling. It’s unacceptable to me. When I see them kneeling, I just turn off the TV. “I have no interest in the game in this way. And I’m sure many others think like me.”

Trump, like Trump, did not forget to send a small bite just before the end: “NBA ratings are declining, as you know. I hear other industries are declining, including baseball. We must support our flag, our country. “A lot of people agree with me. If I’m wrong, then I’ll lose the election. That’s fine with me. I will always support our flag.”

Now, well, all that remains is to wait for LeBron James’ response …
