FC Twente reached a new striker with Alexander Jeremejeff on Monday, but is still looking for an attacking midfielder. According to TC / Tubantia, Ekkelenkamp is ‘the dream candidate’ and is ‘at the top of the wish list’. The number 14 of the past Eredivisie season, however, has to wait for the preparation in Amsterdam.
How much view Ekkelenkamp has on playing time will probably only become clear at the end of August, beginning of September. The twenty-year-old youth international has come to sixteen Ajax appearances since 2018, but mainly played his match in the Kitchen Champion Division at Jong Ajax.
Technical director Jan Streuer has so far brought six players to the Grolsch Veste: Pierie, Jeremejeff, Gijs Smal, Nathangelo Markelo, Vaclav Cerny and Lazaros Lamprou. Danilo must be next, but FC Twente is still waiting for a work permit for the Brazilian.
