Trump rises above the fighting parties and comes with his own aid package for (economic) corona victims

US President Donald Trump has signed a decree to financially compensate the victims of the corona epidemic. The Democrats and Trump’s own Republican party could not agree on a relief fund for (economic) victims of the corona crisis, so Trump decided to take matters into his own hands.

There had been a lot of quarrels recently between the Democratic and Republican parties about who and how much money should be made available for the economic victims of the corona crisis. Because the parties could not reach agreement, Trump has single-handedly decided to come up with a plan himself and to provide it with his signature immediately.

Trump’s aid fund means that unemployment benefits will continue but be cut from 600 to 400 dollars a week. Payroll taxes are temporarily suspended for people who are below the threshold of an income of $ 100,000 per year. Trump also offers Americans extra protection against eviction and students can borrow money without paying interest on it.

However, Democratic candidate for president of the United States Joe Biden is not happy that Trump has set up his own relief fund. To the American media he called it “half-baked measures”. According to Biden, Social Security is “in grave danger” with Trump’s plan.
