Transport Online – Holland America Line’s Rotterdam will dock in Rotterdam for the last time on August 10

SEATTLE – Holland America Line’s Rotterdam will dock for the last time in the port of Rotterdam on Monday, August 10, 2020. The ship, which will spend a full day at the port, offers fans the opportunity to see the ship. The Rotterdam will then sail to the Damen Shipyard for maintenance before being handed over to the new owner. In July, Holland America Line announced the sale of the ships Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

Fans of the ship can come to the public areas around the Wilhelminakade (Cruise Port Rotterdam) to say goodbye to the Rotterdam, take photos and say goodbye, in compliance with the social distance rules that apply in the city, in accordance with RIVM guidelines. Rotterdam will sail into the passage at 05:30 local time for an arrival at the terminal between 08:00 and 09:00 in the morning. It is expected that the ship will remain moored at the Wilhelminakade until mid-morning the next day, after which it will sail through the canal to Damen Shipyard.

“Rotterdam is special for the city of Rotterdam, given the establishment of Holland America Line in this city. We are especially pleased that we can welcome the city’s namesake here and that everyone can visit her and wish her the best,” said Nico Bleichrodt , Vice President of International Sales of Holland America Line.

“It is a memorable moment to have the ship in Rotterdam one last time, as a tribute to the city of Rotterdam, its inhabitants and our loyal guests.”
