Bossut clashed with striker Jordan Botaka in the second half. The 34-year-old keeper was transferred to the University Hospital in Ghent. Not only does he have a severe concussion, but also a fracture in his skull.
Zulte Waregem won the friendly game in their own Rainbow Stadium 2-1, but a week before the start of the competition, trainer Francky Dury mainly worried about Bossut. The one-time international of the ‘Red Devils’ has been number 1 under the bar at Zulte Waregem for years. Bossut has played more than four hundred games for the club since 2006.
