When it became known on Sunday that the employee was infected with COVID-19, the store was immediately closed. Because the man’s 12 colleagues also have to be quarantined for 2 weeks as a precaution. “This is necessary to avoid a second lockdown,” says David Stores, Maasmechelen Village spokesperson. “By taking the necessary measures immediately, the company can continue to work.”

The store reopened on Tuesday, with staff from the same clothing brand in Roermond, just across the Dutch border. Infections have already been identified in the outlet center in Roermond. That is why staff in all shops there have to wear a mouth mask since yesterday. That also applies to who goes shopping. The outlet center in Roermond is the only shopping center in Dutch Limburg where this is mandatory.
