Representatives of the Shas factions and Torah Judaism decided today (Sunday) not to support the overcoming clause bill that is due to be put to a vote in the Knesset this week by the opposition, through MK Ayelet Shaked (right).
Representatives of the ultra-Orthodox factions announced that they are committed to the integrity of the coalition and the prevention of elections, adding that they are working to transfer the state budget and fight the corona virus.
Yesterday, MK Miki Zohar (Likud) demanded that the issue of the overcoming clause be raised again, with the help of MK Shaked. Blue and white party officials protested: “We will not allow anti-democratic legislation. This is what we promised the Israeli public and this is what we will do to preserve the State of Israel. This is what was agreed when we formed the unity government. We will abide by the agreements.”
