Settlers attacked border fighters with stones and paint


a a A Dozens of masked settlers attacked the Border Police forces of the Israel Police operating near the town of Yitzhar this morning (Wednesday) with stones and bottles of paint, the police said.

A Border Patrol fighter was lightly injured as a result of a stone hit and other fighters were hit by paint bottles.

The rioters, according to the police, even punctured a number of tires of border vehicles.

The forces responded by dispersing demonstrations and additional forces were rushed to the scene. Police said the incident was now under control and the rioters had dispersed.

“This is a serious incident of violence against the fighters who engaged in the morning together with the Civil Administration in the demolition of three wooden structures illegally erected in the Shevach Ha’aretz outpost near Yitzhar. The demolition has ended,” police said.
