Robben-loos Groningen remains standing against Heracles and starts the preseason with a victory

FC Groningen still had to do without Arjen Robben, but has started strongly. The exhibition game with Heracles Almelo was converted into an unearned 1-0 victory: eighteen-year-old Kian Slor signed for the only goal of the evening.

The hosts already had better chances in the first half. Romano Postema hit the side net, Ramon Pascal Lundqvist headed over and Postema was close to success again on the stroke of half time. Heracles opposed an attempt by newcomer Rai Vloet: the attacker picked up at Excelsior, however, hit the aluminum.

Both clubs take advantage of the rest by changing almost all their players. FC Groningen 2.0 came out of the locker room and opened the score immediately after half-time. Vloet lost the ball in the axis of the field, Remco Balk (19) kept the overview and Slor, who was one year younger, rounded off. In the final phase it was still pinching for the home team, but Heracles missed two imposed chances on the equalizer. Jeremy Cijntje was able to head in freely, but let the ball bounce off his own knee and Delano Burgzorg missed face to face with goalkeeper Sergio Padt.

Both FC Groningen and Heracles continue their practice campaign with a match against an Eredivisie club. FC Groningen will play the derby against FC Emmen on August 11, Heracles will play against PEC Zwolle two days earlier.
