Ricciardo: ‘Changes to the car turned out great’

Daniel Ricciardo was the third fastest driver in the second free practice session of the Grand Prix of the Seventy Years, partly due to adjustments to his Renault, he says on the website of his employer. In VT1 he finished seventeenth.

That seventeenth place is not really representative of where Renault is, Ricciardo emphasizes. ‘We mainly collected some data.’ In VT2 the Australian was well on the times list with a 1: 26.421, which was good for P3. ‘We had a little warm-up, made some changes to the car, which worked well and turned out really well.’

On the hard tires, Renault was one of the few teams that made miles on that compound, according to Ricciardo it went very well. ‘On the softs as well, but we still have to improve a little on that band in some areas. So there is more to it. The long runs also looked good, so that provides a good basis for Sunday. ‘ (photo: Renault Sport Media)
