The generally well-informed tech-savvy OnLeaks has shared renders showing the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro. It is noticeable that the smartphones get a large round camera module.
OnLeaks, together with the website Pricebaba, have put the first renders of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro online. The images show a smartphone with curved screen edges and an oval cut-out for a dual-selfie camera. The screen is about 6.7-inch in size and has very thin screen edges.
On the back we see a large round camera module that protrudes slightly from the housing. The module has four lenses, one of which is at least a telephoto lens for optical zoom.
The edges of the 6.4-inch screen of the regular Mate 40 seem to bend less far around the housing. There are also three cameras on the back instead of four cameras. The optical zoom lens may be missing from the Mate 40. We do not have other specifications yet, but we are pretty sure that both devices will appear on the market again without Google services.
The official release of the Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro is likely to take place in September or October.
