Rea wins Tissot Superpole race in Jerez, Van der Mark third

Jonathan Rea won the Tissot Superpole race in Jerez de la Frontera on Sunday morning. The Kawasaki rider was the fastest after ten laps for Scott Redding and Dutchman Michael van der Mark.

At a temperature of just above 30 degrees, the World Superbike riders started their ten-lap Tissot Superpole race of the Pirelli Spanish Round. It was Jonathan Rea who took the lead right from the start and never left it. The Kawasaki rider therefore crossed the finish line first before Scott Redding, Michael van der Mark, Loris Baz and Chaz Davies.

Sixth in this race was prey for Tom Sykes followed by Alex Lowes, Gareth Gerloff, Leon Haslam and Alvaró Bautista.

For Toprak Razgatlioglu, this ten lap race was a big disappointment. After the Yamaha rider crawled through the eye of the needle on Saturday (in addition to the Yamaha van Van Mark running in race 1, Razgatlioglu had to deal with the same problem only that happened after crossing the finish) he was less fortunate in this race . Riding in second place, the Yamaha stopped again, but now halfway through the race, resulting in a DNF.
