RAD Industrial IoT Solutions Selected by Metrofibre Networx for the Security of Residential and Commercial Complexes


Red’s Industrial IoT gateway provides a unified platform for secure communications services

South African communications service provider MetroFibre has chosen Red’s Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms for the company’s smart security solution, Metro-I. Red’s SecFlow and PowerFlow, which are IIoT gateways and rugged switches, will be integrated into a next-generation security system designed to protect private residential complexes and commercial complexes, as well as communities in fenced localities. Red is the industry leader in industrial IoT and Edge Computing Solutions (Edge).

The unique Metro-I system is spread over pages in the secure areas equipped with SecFlow and / or
Red’s PowerFlow enables secure connectivity and quick responses to any security issue – from one central location. Red products connect connectivity and security solutions, such as intercom and visitor management platforms, access control, CCTV and other IoT devices connected to the network using LP-WAN technologies, as well as license plate detection and distress buttons. Red’s solutions enable the secure transfer of data coming from devices connected to the network directly to the control room, to enable real-time response, monitoring and analysis. Metro-I uses MetroFibre’s extensive fiber network that stretches for thousands of miles and serves industrial complexes, residences and closed communities throughout South Africa.
