Next week the GP Formula 1 of Spain is on the calendar. Racing Point assumes that Sergio Perez will be back in the car. The Mexican has to miss the 2 races in Silverstone due to a positive corona test.
Nico Hülkenberg will start tomorrow from third in the second race at the Silverstone circuit, but chances are very good that he will have to make way for Sergio Perez again for the fifth GP of the year. The Mexican would then have to test negative for corona.
According to Otmar Szafnauer, the tests show that the corona virus is decreasing at Perez. “Today he has undergone another test and we will have those results tomorrow and I think he will test negative. Sergio has to be back in the car by the GP of Barcelona.”
“I was 99 percent sure Nico Hülkenberg would drive both races at Silverstone and now I’m 99 percent sure Sergio will be in our car in Spain.”
Perez tested positive after traveling to Mexico after the Hungarian GP for his ailing mother. “It takes between 1 and 4 weeks for you to test negative after an infection. It also depends on when he got infected.”
