The Minister of Religious Affairs, Rabbi Yaakov Avitan, toured the Rescue Union headquarters in Jerusalem today (Wednesday) with senior members of his bureau. Rescue Union CEO Eli Polak, the organization’s chairman Moshe Teitelbaum, the organization’s vice president Dovi Meisel and the director of government relations at the Rescue Union Shabi Rapaport presented to the minister the organization’s activities during the corona and on weekdays.
In recent weeks, in addition to the medical center, the Rescue Union has also operated a center that operates teams that deal with the transfer of Corona patients and a humanitarian center. The director general of the Rescue Union, Polak, explained that despite the emergency situation, the 6,000 medical personnel who volunteer at the Rescue Union continue to provide rapid medical treatment every day to about 1,800 wounded and sick.
Minister Avitan was accompanied on a visit by Chief of Staff Minister Asher Medina and his advisers Shimon Lugassi and Elhanan Zevulun. The minister praised the activities of the Rescue Union volunteers and said: “I would like to thank the Minister for his warm words that strengthen our volunteers these days and for his willingness to stand to the right of the Rescue Union and help our activities,” he said.
