Schmidt traveled with the PSV selection to his native country, where the Eindhoven team has set up a training camp. In Marienfeld he takes stock after the first two weeks of training. “My first impression is very, very good. To be honest, I am even a little surprised at the motivation and mentality of the players.”
Ernest Faber’s successor notices that his players have always given one hundred percent up to now, also during training. “We work hard and sometimes work long hours. Nevertheless, the players always remain positive: I think they can even appreciate this method. I am also very satisfied with the situation after two weeks: I think we are making progress.”
Schmidt will make his unofficial debut as a PSV coach this weekend, after the match against VV UNA was canceled. In Germany, exercises are held against SC Verl and KFC Uerdingen 05.
