Corona tests at Feyenoord last Friday showed that one player was tested positive. Due to GDPR legislation and the right to privacy of its individual employees, the club does not disclose which player is involved.
The player will be quarantined, is temporarily not part of the match selection and will not participate in the group training sessions.
In the run-up to the first exhibition game against Sparta Rotterdam, all players of Feyenoord were tested for corona last Friday. The club follows the guidelines of the RIVM and the protocol of the KNVB. According to that protocol, testing will be further intensified in the coming weeks towards the start of the competition.
In addition to the corona test, the selection also received a ‘corona lecture’ on Friday morning from club doctor Casper van Eijck, virologist Annemiek van der Eijk and IC doctor Diederik Gommers. In the dressing room of the 1908 training complex, they received an extensive explanation about the virus and the precautions to be taken.
