Pikmin 3 Deluxe announced by Nintendo

It has been seven years since Pikmin 3 came out for Wii U and we haven’t heard anything about the franchise since. Today that has changed, because Nintendo has announced Pikmin 3 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch from scratch.

As the name suggests, Pikmin 3 Deluxe is an updated version of the game on Wii U. That just doesn’t mean the Switch game won’t have any extra features. On the contrary. In the Announcement Trailer, Nintendo announces that Pikmin 3 Deluxe will be getting multiple levels of difficulty, new side missions with Olimar and Louie, and all the DLC that got the original release.

Exploring the planet with the Pikmin

In Pikmin 3 Deluxe, players land on the mysterious planet called PNF-404. On the planet, Captain Olimar must survive, solve puzzles and defeat enemies along with a horde of up to 100 Pikmin under his wing. Co-op enthusiasts can also play the game entirely with a friend, with the second player taking on the role of Louie. Co-op can be played via split screen or via online multiplayer.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is scheduled for release on October 30 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. The game will be developed by Nintendo’s own development team, the so-called Nintendo EAD department.
