Bosz, 56, is now a coach of Bayer Leverkusen. “I don’t know how long I will remain a trainer. Maybe three more years. But it could also just be another eight years. I cannot imagine that I am still on the field at the age of 72, like Dick Advocaat. I do it as long as I enjoy it. But you are often separated from your family. I want to spend a few more good years with the family, ”said Bosz, who says his name as national coach was mentioned before Ronald Koeman was appointed. “But then I was still under contract with Borussia Dortmund. Football is all about timing. I read that Jürgen Klopp was not available when Bayern Munich wanted to get it. But that doesn’t mean Bayern didn’t want him. ”
The fact that Bosz wants to spend a lot of time with his family does not mean that he is no longer open to a great adventure. “I never say never. Maybe there will be a special opportunity, the national coach for example, ”says Bosz with a laugh. “And then you are often close to home.”
In the Netherlands Bosz was trainer of Heracles Almelo, Vitesse and Ajax, among others. With the team from Amsterdam, he lost the final of the Europa League from Manchester United in 2017. He then went to work for Dortmund and then for Leverkusen.
