As 9to5Google reports, OnePlus is working on a “major UI update”, improved dark mode and an always-on display, which is one of the most anticipated updates to OxygenOS.While the teasers dropped by OnePlus don’t give us much information, there are a few hints in the accompanying photos as to what these updates will look like on a smartphone.
In a tweet, OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau suggests the new look will be a “fresh” look. The animation he included in the tweet could indicate an improved one-handed mode modeled on Samsung’s Android One UI.

Some previews are likely only for HydrogenOS, the version of Android OnePlus makes for the Chinese market. OxygenOS will be very similar, even if it arrives a little later.
OnePlus will unveil a brand new version of HydrogenOS later today, which will include Android 11 updates. In addition, the final developer version of OxygenOS 11 will be released.
With Android 11 expected to be made available to the general public very soon, OnePlus may be the first to show its own version of the software. OnePlus has therefore worked closely with Google to support the beta releases of Android 11.
