Joe Conte and Simona Alp, the two senior women in the women’s tennis, gave up their participation in the tournament. Among the participants should be Yelena Ostapenko, 2017 Roland Garros champion, Marcetta Wanderushba who reached the final in France in 2019, Petra Martic ranked 15th in the world and Christina Mladenovic and Daria Kastakina who were in the top 10.
The men’s ATP round is set to return later this month with the Cincinnati Masters Tournament, in which the women will also play. This tournament will be held in a bubble in New York starting Aug. 22, after which players will advance to the U.S. Open, which will begin Aug. 31.
