Omroep Flevoland – News – PotatoEurope leaves Emmeloord and goes to Lelystad

PotatoEurope is no longer held in Emmeloord. Organizer DLG Europe has decided to hold the international potato event at Wageningen Plant Research in Lelystad.

PotatoEurope is held in the Netherlands every four years. The last editions were in Emmeloord, but bad weather conditions meant that the first day of the fair in 2017 had to be canceled. To prevent it from happening again, an alternative location was sought. DLG Europe found it at Wageningen University & Research in Lelystad. There, all weather conditions can be taken into account.

A total of 20 hectares has been reserved for extensive harvesting demonstrations, the creation of test fields for crop protection, fertilizers and green manure. There will also be an exhibition. PotatoEurope is on 1 and 2 September 2021. The organization expects 250 exhibitors and 16,000 visitors from all over the world.
