The stricter corona measures in the province of Antwerp are forcing De Vleeshalle in Mechelen to close again indefinitely. In recent days, hardly any people have come to visit.

“We have 24 entrepreneurs under one roof, which are good for about 75 full-time jobs. It is heartbreaking to have to make this decision, ”says business manager Veronique Smolders. As of today, the taste market in the Huidevettersstraat has closed its doors again.

Ice cream shop niCE !, an established name in De Vleeshalle, will remain open for take-away every day except Monday. Customers are welcome from 1.30 pm to 9 pm. At the same time, the fourteen exhibitors join forces to create a Taste Box with varied dishes. “We simply bring De Vleeshalle to people’s homes,” says manager Magalie Nijs.

The first delivery is scheduled for Saturday, August 15. You can order online from Friday 7 August. svh
