In the holiday country France, which is very popular with the Belgians, there are more and more regions for which increased vigilance, or code orange, applies to holidaymakers. This is evident on Wednesday from the adjusted travel advice from the federal public service Foreign Affairs.

The French department of Mayenne still turns red, Haut-Rhin is again green.

This has also changed for Croatia. There is now increased vigilance for the provinces of Osijek-Baranja, Šibenik-Knin, Split-Dalmatia, Istria and Zagreb. The province of Vukovar-Srijem was given a code red.

In Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Autonomous Community of Madrid were added to the list of areas requiring increased vigilance. And finally, in Romania, increased vigilance applies to the regions of Vest, Bucuresti-Ilfov, Nord Est and Nord Vest.

As previously announced, travel advice for Switzerland has been further refined. Only the canton of Geneva is still listed as red.

The analysis for the color codes is done by the Belgian experts, who base themselves on the epidemiological evolution in the different countries of the last fourteen days. Anyone returning from the red zones, as well as from non-EU and non-Schengen countries, is obliged to quarantine and undergo a corona test. Upon return from the orange zones, the Foreign Affairs recommends a quarantine and a test.

The travel advice can be found on the website diplomatie.belgium.be.
