Microsoft’s new Android phone will be released on September 10. It concerns Surface Duo, a device with two screens that is expected to cost around 1,200 euros.
Although the device has two screens, it is not a foldable screen. They are two separate screens: each screen is 5.6 inches (1,800 x 1,350 pixels). They can be used together as one screen, so that they really hit each other. The screens are located on the inside of the device and together can be made into one screen of 8.1 inches.
The device is equipped with a Snapdragon 855 chip, The Verge writes. In addition, it has 6GB of RAM and 265GB of storage memory. The battery is 3,577 mAh, which is not extremely large, especially for two screens. Moreover, there is no support for 5G, which may also have a positive influence on energy use and battery life.
Selfies can be taken with the 11 megapixel camera, but the camera can also be used in video conferences. It is not yet known whether this special telephone will come to the Netherlands and what it will cost.
Laptops and tablets from Microsoft
Most Surface devices are not smartphones but laptop / tablets, so you might think that this is a computer. It is really a smartphone, which you could call a kind of tablet with its screen size of 8.1 inches in total.
