Memorial cross for victims of Covid-19

In Italy, a memorial cross for the victims of Covid-19 is being erected at a pilgrimage chapel on a mountain near Piacenza. According to the Italian news agency SIR is the crucifix, designed by a local artist couple, the first memorial cross in Italy for the victims of the corona pandemic.

The pandemic demanded a particularly high death toll in this municipality in the north of Italy. The twin brothers are among the victims Giovanni and Mario Boselli, two priests who both passed away from Covid in March 2020. In recent years they have been responsible for the pastoral care and reception of pilgrims of the Filipazzi pilgrimage chapel, which was built on a mountain between Piacenza and Genoa.
