Bottas recorded a time of 1.25,873. He was therefore a tenth of a second faster than teammate Hamilton. Verstappen conceded three-tenths at Bottas’ time. The Red Bull Racing driver was the only one to stay close to Mercedes. Lance Stroll (Racing Point) was fourth, his temporary teammate Nico Hülkenberg ninth.
Alexander Albon only came into action at the end of the training, after the Red Bull team worked on his car for a long time. Albon had crashed on Friday in the second practice and came to thirteenth place on Saturday afternoon.
Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) set the fourteenth time and again faced problems with his Ferrari. The German is still experiencing a weekend full of technical malheur. At Silverstone, it was a lot cooler than Friday, as predicted, and it remained dry during the final practice session. The qualifying starts on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. Dutch time.
