At the end of October and the beginning of November, Formula 1 races on the Imola circuit. A week before, the Formula 1 teams are active in the south of Portugal at the Portimao circuit. There is immediately the logistical problem, which means that the race weekend in Imola will only last two days.
That is not what the drivers want and there is now also criticism of the decision. Many drivers are not happy like Max Verstappen: “I think the way they do it is a shame, but I am really looking forward to racing there because I think the track is great.”
“Almost none of us know the circuit well so that can cause problems. So we arrive at a new circuit with only one free practice. It is the same for everyone, but in my opinion this is not the way. Provide two free practice so that we can try things out and be sure that the cars work “, Verstappen told GPUpdate.
Two days fine
Verstappen is satisfied with the choice for Imola. It is mainly about the short time that the drivers get: “I don’t mind two days at Imola, but I don’t think there are two free practice sessions. I think that’s just a stupid decision.
