Marc Marquez will almost certainly miss the next three Grand Prix weekends

Marc Marquez will definitely not travel to Brno next weekend and will not participate in the Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky. The Repsol Honda Team driver, who was operated on again last Monday, will almost certainly miss the next two Grand Prix weekends on the Red Bull Ring. This brings an end to the 2020 title aspirations of the eight-time world champion.

Whether Marc Marquez got back on the bike too early after his upper arm fracture suffered during the first MotoGP race or whether he took up too much hay on his fork during the training days will always remain a question. The fact is that the Repsol Honda Team driver had to be operated on for a second time in a short time last Monday on his injury and is in fact back to square one.

The Spaniard has now been canceled for the Grand Prix to be held at the Brno circuit next weekend and that he will therefore not score any World Cup points for the third race in a row this season. However, well-informed sources in Spain are now reporting that it will not be just a withdrawal from the Czech Grand Prix. The next two Grand Prix weekends after Brno, which will be held on the Red Bull Ring in Austria, also seem to come too early.

With this knowledge, the title aspirations of the reigning MotoGP world champion can be definitively dashed.

This weekend in Brno, Marquez will be replaced by HRC MotoGP test driver Stefan Bradl within the Repsol Honda Team. Whether the German will also be Alex Marquez’s teammate during the two Grand Prix weekends in Austria is not yet known, but this chance seems very likely.
