macOS Big Sur public beta available now

macOS Big Sur has released a first version of the public beta this week after its announcement in June. Don’t forget to make a backup.

If you can’t wait to get started with Apple’s new macOS Big Sur since June, you’re in luck. The new operating system for Mac devices is now available for download. It is a public beta that is more stable than the developer version. Nevertheless, it is important to know that it is best to test this beta on an extra device to avoid problems.

Those who are interested can download the beta version of Big Sur now via the beta program of the iPhone giant. As announced in June, the new macOS has a lot of changes and innovations compared to its predecessors. Where Apple has focused on performance in previous years, we now mainly get a new layout and dozens of new functions in Maps, Safari, Messages and so on.

In Safari, for example, we will soon be able to log in with Touch ID on websites that support the tool and Netflix will also finally receive support for 4K HDR from the same Safari.
