Max Verstappen set the third fastest time in the morning in the third and final free practice. The Dutch Formula 1 driver of Red Bull was a little slower on the Silverstone circuit than the two Mercedes. The Finn Valtteri Bottas was the fastest in 1.25.873, Hamilton clocked second time at 0.138 seconds from his teammate. Verstappen conceded 0.3 seconds on Bottas.
Verstappen was the fastest in the first practice on Friday, the Canadian Lance Stroll drove the best time in the second practice in his pink racing car from Racing Point. The session did not go very well for Alexander Albon. In the second practice on Friday, the Thai Briton had crashed and his car had apparently not fully recovered, because he had to wait 45 minutes before he could drive his first lap. He eventually recorded the disappointing thirteenth time.
