Arsenal reached the final two weeks ago by beating Manchester City in the semi-finals. Chelsea was too strong for Manchester United. The two London teams met three times last year: Chelsea won the Europa League final (4-1) and first meeting in the Premier League (1-2). In January it was 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
For Arsenal, there is more at stake than just the cup: because manager Mikel Arteta’s team did not qualify for European football through the competition, it must be done on Saturday evening at Wembley. In a win, Arsenal receives a ticket for the Europa League. It would be at the expense of Wolverhampton Wanderers, which finished seventh in the Premier League.
