Runlight, a representative of LG Mobile, has officially launched the company’s new device LG Velvet in Israel at a recommended price of NIS 2,229. This is a relatively attractive price compared to existing flagship devices on the market, and the goal is to try to penetrate back into the Israeli market.
The new device offers a completely different design from previous editions of the company, the main reason stated is that consumers today are looking for design over hardware. “Consumers have low expectations when it comes to premium devices that share the same design and specifications, but the consumer attaches importance to design, video viewing quality and price and less emphasis on hardware,” he said. Bronlight said they conducted a survey and its results show that 64% of consumers will consider upgrading if there is a significant change in design, compared to 20% who will upgrade if there is a change in technical specifications.
The aforementioned LG Velvet comes in a different design. It is called 3D Arc and combines curves front and back – blending plastic with glass in this case – with an array of special cameras whose arrangement is supposed to resemble a drop of rain, and a configuration that does not intend to fight with that of the top phones on the market. It is relatively thin with a thickness of 7.9 mm and weighs 180 grams, and according to the company its size and shape are designed to be comfortable to hold. The LG Velvet screen continues the design line with a convex frame to the sides, so it is narrow and long and stretches from end to end. ‘Full HD + Full HD resolution, and it offers high brightness.
The international model arrives in Israel with the Snapdragon 845 that ran the flagship devices in 2018, instead of the Snapdragon 765G launched in the LG Velvet in the Korean model. It comes with 6GB of working memory and 128GB of storage memory and there is also the option to expand with a microSD slot up to 2 terabytes. It is waterproof and dustproof to the IP68 standard as well as shock and fall resistance in the military standard MIL-STD-810.
The Velvet camera system consists of a main camera equipped with a 48-megapixel sensor and an f / 1.8 key, a width camera with an 8-megapixel sensor and an f / 2.2 key, and a third depth camera with a 5-megapixel sensor and an f / 2.4 key. The selfie camera has a 16-megapixel sensor with an f / 1.9 key. Shooting is supported by a microphone that offers technology to separate shooting sounds from background noise when shooting videos. In addition, there are video modes for cinema-quality photography, advanced stabilization mode and a mode for filtering digital noises in the image.

The battery has a capacity of 4,300 mAh with wireless charging support, and the device also offers stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM support and Android 10 with the company’s customized interface.
Runlight will offer the first 3,000 buyers a screen protector and silicone case as a gift. Apart from that, Runlight will also offer the cover with the dual screen, similar to the LG G8X that was introduced last year, which provides a solution of a folding device or work in a wide mode for NIS 799. In addition, an electronic pen from Wacom will be offered that supports over 4,000 sensitive levels for NIS 299.
