Will Tura is now blowing out 80 candles on Sunday 2 August and that is celebrated at VTM with the big birthday show ’80 years Will Tura ‘. Anyone other than Luk Alloo, who has known Will privately for years, is better off celebrating him.
Together with Paul Jambers, Koen Wauters, Luc Appermont, Ingeborg, Ben Crabbé, Urbanus and Patrick Lefevere, Luk talks freely in an empty Sportpaleis about their relationship with the musical legend.
Will Tura also takes the microphone in hand and performs some of his classics live. The special is on Will’s birthday, Sunday, August 2, at 8:30 pm at VTM.
Not a big talker
Koen Wauters was about 11 years old when he discovered the album ‘Flanders My Land’ at home. “Later I saw Will live and then the seeds were planted to become a singer myself. Will is an example in many areas, “says Koen.
“He does not sing his songs, he is them, he lives them. That has always affected me,” says the singer of Clouseau. “Will is not a big talker, but it is the man who sometimes calls me to catch up. I don’t have enough words to express my respect. ”
