It was not long to wait for the new successor to Maurizio Sarri, because the Old Lady has a new, resounding name in store. None other than Andrea Pirlo will be the new head coach of Juventus.

Maurizzio Sarri was kicked out after the elimination in the eighth finals of the Champions League against Olympique Lyon.

Pirlo signed a contract until June 30, 2022. He had only had the Juventus U23 under his wing for a week. For the 41-year-old Italian, who first made the good weather for AC Milan for 10 seasons and then played football for another 4 years at competitor Juventus, it will be his first assignment as head coach.

As a player, he became the national champion four times with Juventus, which started his series of 9 consecutive titles. The ninth title followed last season.

“We believe that Pirlo has everything it takes to lead a talented squad to new successes on his debut on the bench,” Juventus said.
